About Prince of Peace

OUR story & MISSION

Proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and welcoming all to grow with us in God’s love through worship, learning, service, and fellowship.

We are a church. We are a community. We are a people who care for one another. We are a worshipping assembly. We are Lutheran. We are Christian. We are believers in Jesus who know that we can do more together than we can separately.

Being a church is not always easy these days, but we believe that there is no better time to be a church than right now.

And so . . . we get together on a weekly basis to remember the promises that are ours in Christ Jesus. From that weekly gathering, we are sent out to serve the world and all those in need. We spend time together in Christian Education to learn more about our faith. We pray for a better world and that we might be an agent of positive change. And we give – of ourselves, our time, and our possessions to something that is larger than ourselves.

Prince of Peace is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), a denomination of over 4 million baptized members. In partnership with the ELCA and other Lutheran Churches throughout the world, we bear witness to the saving love of Jesus Christ.

We became an official congregation in 1985 with 156 members. We built our first building in 1986, followed by a new sanctuary and education wing in 1998, and a new fellowship hall and more classrooms and offices in 2005. We dedicated a Schlicker pipe organ in 2015. Today, Prince of Peace has over 2000 members and serves by partnering with many local ministries and global ministries.

We operate Little Shepherds Learning Center, a Preschool and Kindergarten Enrichment program, and have recently grown our Music Concert Series to include local musicians, noted artists, and travelling choirs.

We offer a Christian education program for all ages, and a robust Confirmation program for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

Prince of Peace strives to be an inviting, diverse, and Christ-centered community. We welcome all people regardless of race, ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation, or economic condition in life.

You will find lots of information about our congregation on this website. To really get to know us, we encourage you to visit our church and join us for worship.
