I’m writing this early Tuesday morning on Election Day.
My morning prayers again included giving thanks to God for this nation and asking God to bring people together for the common good. On a personal level, I have been asking God to ease the anxiety within me and others.
God has been using music at Prince of Peace for the last two weeks to answer my prayer.
You will be uplifted by our next concert in our Concert Series, the Watoto Children’s Choir. As my grandparents used to say, “It will be good for whatever’s ailing you.” Scroll their website and just try to match their smiles. I finished my prayers this morning by pulling up my Watoto playlist.
The concert is Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 PM. Plan to come. They are a traveling choir of orphaned children from Uganda, but don’t expect sad tear jerking. They are so fun, so positive, so inspirational that I not only have hosted them in the past, but traveled to see them elsewhere. This is an “all ages concert,” by children, appreciated by children, but not just for children.
A few more hosts are still needed to house the choir. If you have the space to do so, please [email] Jeremy Bankson or call the church at 614.766.6377. Please indicate how many beds you have and whether you have animals.
Lord God, help us elect trustworthy leaders, participate in wise decisions for our common life, and both love and serve our neighbors. Bless the leaders of our land, that we may be at peace among ourselves and a blessing to others; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

- Reformation Sunday went deep within me and reminded me of God’s holy history of faithfulness.
- The Bach Concert incorporated Evening Prayer allowing me to linger on the printed words as they were sung in German to calm my inner being.
- All Saints worship this past weekend used banners and bells, water and word, and such diversity of music styles. Standing with my back to the columbarium, sun shining, surrounded by singing saints was a gift. Indeed, as one anthem proclaimed “I’ll be on my way.”
