Youth Summer Activities

As the school year quickly comes to an end, I am finding myself excitedly anticipating the summer months at Prince of Peace. Not only because I am looking forward to more sunny and warm days, or because of my summer camp roots, but because this summer will be full of many youth events and volunteer opportunities.

When I served as a camp counselor and full-time camp staff, one of the most fulfilling aspects of the job was seeing campers and retreat partakers return year after year. Having the privilege to see them grow into teenagers and young adults and catching up with them about what was going on in their lives brought me such joy. Even if it was only for one week, or a few days, a year.

Now, as I fully take on this new role as Director of Youth Ministries, I get the amazing opportunity of continuing and creating a community for the young people in this church throughout the entire year. While there are no weekly Sunday school and confirmation sessions happening throughout the summer, there will still be many events for connection and memory making.
