Renewing

This year, we are taking up the theme of renewing worship in our adult study. It is going to be a fun and informative journey as we spend the year looking at worship, why we do what we do, and how our worship shapes us as people of faith.

Even though fall can sometimes feel like a season of endings, there is actually so much that comes to life in September at church.

Sunday School has started. Choirs are singing. Senior Ministry is gathering. Crazy confirmands are running around. Bible studies are bustling with new people and new topics. And that is just the beginning!

If you don't believe me, take a look at our church calendar. The visual difference between last week and this week, and what is coming in the weeks ahead is striking. September brings a whole new energy to our church.

Perhaps this can also be a time of renewal for you in how you engage with the church. Maybe you were involved at one time, but jobs, kids, busy schedules, or just life in general caused that involvement to fall by the wayside. Or maybe you have never been very involved and lately you have felt a little pulling or perhaps a little pushing to get connected.

My invitation to you is simple: be brave and try to follow where the Spirit is moving you.

You don't have to know exactly where it will lead. You don't have to commit to everything but start somewhere. Come to a Bible study, join a choir, Volunteer for an event, come to a fellowship gathering and try something new.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in our lives and in our community. When we follow where the Spirit is moving, we trust that God will bring forth fruit.

So as we enter this new season, may we embrace the opportunities for renewal that God is placing before us in our worship, in our church, and in our own lives.

God's Peace,

Pastor Tim
