Good News All Around
On Sunday we voted unanimously to call Pastor Tim Wrenn as the new Associate Pastor at Prince of Peace. Once Pastor Tim accepts the call, he and his family will be on their way to Dublin to join our ministry. Most likely, Pastor Tim will begin in July and his family will follow in mid-August. I couldn’t be more excited to welcome this new pastor and colleague to our staff.
As the pandemic continues to recede, we will begin to lift restrictions at Prince of Peace. Beginning on June 2, 2021, if you are fully vaccinated you will not be required to wear a mask inside or outside our facility. If you are not vaccinated, we encourage you to continue to wear a mask. However, if you are fully vaccinated and still want to wear a mask for extra protection, you are more than welcome to wear one.
Fewer restrictions will also allow us to begin communing in a more normal way. We will place the remaining pods in the “drop off closet” for those still communing at home, but during live worship, beginning immediately, we will be distributing the sacrament from the altar. You will be able to pick up your own host and your own pre-poured glass of wine on tables up front. This will still allow you to commune safely without wrestling with the communion pods.
Finally, I want to thank our incredible Preschool staff under the direction of Sue Miller. They met for the entire year, in the midst of the pandemic, and had absolutely no occurrence of the virus!! They finish the year this week and deserve our kudos for their good work in keeping the kids safe and the preschool open!
So many good things are beginning to happen again at our church. Have you thought about how you will be a part of it?
Blessing,
Rev. John D. Morris, Senior Pastor
