O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 136:1
I want to start off my first Pastor’s Corner by saying thank you and giving praise to God for y’all. The generosity and hospitality that you have shown me during this transition is frankly overwhelming.
The verse above from Psalm 136 might be familiar to some of you. Luther used this verse as the return of thanks in his Small Catechism. I first learned this when I worked as a camp counselor. After each of our meals, we would give thanks for the gift of the meal that we had received. I found it was a great daily reminder of the ways that God provides for us.
In the midst of this transition, I have continued to be blessed daily as God has used members of this congregation to help ease my transition. From providing or offering places to stay to the multitude of cards and gifts to the very warm welcome each time someone new introduces themselves.
I hope to continue to find ways in my daily routine to see how God is active in my life. Do you have anything added into your routine to pause and see the activity of God? I hope that over the next few weeks and months I get the chance to hear how you have witnessed God’s presence. Until then, thank you! I look forward to the way God is continuing mission and ministry through you.
God’s Peace,
Pastor Tim
