Help Needed and Appreciated
It is not a very glamorous act of servanthood to clean up the dishes, or to hand someone a bulletin, or to pick up the pews after a service, or even to hold a tray of empty glasses.
But all of those things – and more – are essential for our worship life together.
As we come out of Covid, we need lots of worship assistants to make things happen on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings, and while we have been cranking things up at the church, our list of worship assistants seems to have shrunk. So we need more help right now!
Contact me or Jocelyn Alford in the church office and we can get you going with both training and scheduling.
Here’s what we need:
Altar Care – More people at all services to clean up and set up our weekly Eucharist.
Ushers – Teams of people to make everyone feel secure and welcome in their worship experience. And to collect the offering.
Lectors – Readers of the lessons.
Acolytes – All of our confirmands and recent confirmands are welcome to join in helping with worship.
Assisting Ministers – Someone upfront to lead the prayers and assist the presiding minister.
Communion Servers – People to help pour the wine.
Greeters – Providing warmth and welcome to our members and visitors.
We need you! If we want to continue to offer four full services every weekend, we need everyone to step up to make it happen. Please contact me personally about how you might serve.
In Christ,
Pastor John D. Morris
