1 Peter 4:10
Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.
 
Thomas Edison once said, “If we would do all the things that we are capable of, we would astound ourselves.” This statement has stuck in my mind for a while because I think most of believe that the inverse is true; how quick are we to discount our own abilities and things that we are capable of accomplishing because someone else could do it better, or a hundred other excuses we can think of and use. 
 
One of the great reminders of scripture is how God tends to turn our thinking on its head. God did not just make you on this earth to do nothing, but God has gifted you—everyone—with special talents to live out each and every day.
 
Today, I want to encourage you to name a gift you have and write it down. This can be something you already know, or maybe a gift you are still discovering about yourself. Take the rest of the week to think about how God is using that gift though you to this world; think about how God might be reigniting that gift for the world; think about how you might recognize someone else’s God given gift and lift it up to them.
