I will satisfy the weary,
and all who are faint I will replenish. Jeremiah 31:25
Spring Break!
Over the last few weeks, many of our schools have gone on Spring Break. It’s a great time of the year to get away for a while and enjoy some warmer temperatures. It can also be a chance to explore the Columbus area more or even greater Ohio - that is how we are spending our spring break.
While traveling can at times be exhausting (“I need a vacation from vacation”), going on trips was for me one of the most missed aspects of Covid time. I struggled with not being able to see or be with family and friends; missing out on exploring the wonders and cultures of this magnificent world; not having that time away from the things you see every day to recharge your batteries.
My hope for everyone reading this is that you are able to have a chance to get out, somewhere – even if that means simply having a picnic in a new metro park. Take time to break out from the winter doldrums and get a chance to experience God’s brilliant creation.
For those who are traveling, here is a prayer from the ELW, page 331:
Prayer for Travel
O God, our beginning and our end, you kept Abraham and Sarah in safety throughout the days of their pilgrimage, you led the children of Israel through the midst of the sea, and by a star you led the magi to the infant Jesus. Protect and guide us now as we set out to travel. Make our ways safe and our homecomings joyful, and bring us at last to our heavenly home, where you dwell in the glory with our Lord Jesus Christ and the life-giving Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
God’s Peace,
Pastor Tim
