Today officially marks 1 year at Prince of Peace! Transitions are always busy, but throw in Covid, and it has made this transition very interesting. Yet through it all, I have felt the generous spirit the people here at Prince of peace continue to carry and encourage me.
While this has been a year for my family and me, many of you have also experienced or are expiring transitions in your own life. While I think we all want to be in a post Covid world, this virus continues to remind us of the way that our world has changed.  During this time, we can feel drained and exhausted and just want some of the simplest things of the past.

When we moved a year ago, things did not line up the easiest. We had to manage a shifting housing situation, many of the things we moved ended up broken and damaged, and all the natural ways to get to know a congregation could not happen because of the virus. Yet amid it all, I was talking about all of this with a member of POP and as I was listing the things not going easy, they asked a simple question over and over, “Why do you think God called you to Dublin?” Or “What do you think God is planning into the future?”

These questions did for me, what I think the Scriptures do for us, is help us to focus on the hope we have for the future through the promises God has given us. So, my encouragement to all of those going through tough times or just feeling worn down, look with hope to the future that is unfolding. Hopefully, in looking forward you can see God at work in your life.

Join me in praying this prayer from the ELW:

O God, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown. Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go, but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I give thanks that God has called me to Prince of Peace and look forward to the ways that God will continue to empower us to do mission and ministry in Dublin and the greater Columbus area.

God’s Peace,

Pastor Tim
