Happy August, everyone! Does it feel like the summer is flying by to you as well? The arrival of the eighth month of the year signals that the start of school is just around the corner. Whether you are buying new school supplies for your own kids or helping support supplies for Lutheran World Relief, the new school year is just around the corner. As a way of getting ready for the school year, as a parent or community member, I am inviting you into prayer. Print this email out or write it on your calendar and join me in the following days of prayer in the next few weeks of August:

Aug 1: Preschoolers and those going to school for the first time
Aug 2: All Students and their Parents/Guardians
Aug 3: Teachers
Aug 4: Paraprofessionals
Aug 5: School Administrators and Central Office workers
Aug 6: Cafeteria Workers
Aug 7: Custodians and Media Specialists
Aug 8: Bus Drivers
Aug 9: Resource Officers and Crossing Guards
Aug 10: School Counselors
Aug 11: For the physical school structures
Aug 12: Reading and other Support Specialists
Aug 13: PTO Volunteers
Aug 14: Coaches and Club Leaders
Aug 15: Calm first day nerves for everyone
Aug 16: For an amazing First Day of School

This is only a starter list. Add more people to it, or continue to pray after the 16th. Pray through this list with a child in your life. Invite grandparents, godparents, friends, and family members to pray along with you. May God bless and support all those who attend or work with our schools!
