A Great Lutheran Tradition

Lutherans are well-known for their love of music and have a good reputation for their love of singing. Martin Luther was VERY keen to point out the worth and value of music and described singing as “praying twice”.

Because of this heritage, it should come as no surprise that an incredible choral tradition has been part of the history of so many of our Lutheran Colleges in America. The Nordic Choir from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa is NO exception. With national and international acclaim, we are very excited to host the Nordic Choir this coming Sunday, February 2 at 4 PM. Come enjoy the beautiful music they will offer in our very own sanctuary!

But...we need your help! The only way we can offer programs like this and support choirs like this one is to help house the choir students during their visit. We are still in need of hosts to keep students the evening of  Sunday, February 2. Following the concert, hosts will be invited to join us for a dinner at church, and then take students home with them for the evening. We ask that hosts then provide breakfast and return the students to Prince of Peace no later than 8 AM the following morning. Students come in pairs, but expect to share a bed. If you are able to help us, please let me know! jbankson@princeofpeacedublin.org.

In either case, I hope to see you Sunday to welcome these traveling singers and support them on their winter tour. Come early as we expect a full house for this phenomenal choir!
