Alleluia! He is Risen!
I hope that you had a wonderful Holy Week and Easter Morning, and judging by the weather it looks like a great week ahead. At the end of Easter morning and the busyness of the Holy week, I was reminded of the Calm App.
If you have not seen the commercials for the app, they are usually placed in busy or fast-paced places on television. Suddenly amid the action during the commercial break, a clock appears on the screen and offers the view 10 seconds of peace. It is a helpful reminder that during a busy time, take a breath and soak it all in.
Getting to Easter is busy, but it is not an end. It is the beginning and reminder that we are a new creation in Christ, we are freed from the bonds of Sin, Death, and the Devil and given the promise that we are raised to new life in Christ’s Resurrection.
Normally we talk about giving something up in the season of Lent, now in the season of Easter let us be FREE!
Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
I ask you to take a moment of Prayer now, to cast onto Christ the heavy burdens that are weighing you down. May you feel the freedom and love of God throughout this Easter Season and the many days ahead.
God’s Peace,
Pastor Tim
