Between a Rock and an Alleluia Place

We’re almost there. I’ve already heard the Choir practicing their anthems packed with praise and trumpets. We’ve placed the final orders for the Easter Flowers. The new Paschal Candle arrived last week, and all the bulletins are run and ready!

And yet, in order to get to Easter, we still have some work to do.

We still need to gather in the upper room and wash each other’s feet. We still have to stand at the cross and remember all that our Lord has sacrificed for us. We still have to light the Vigil Fire and trace our hands over the ancient stories of promise and hope.

We are almost there – almost ready to trot out the Alleluias . . . and yet we still have a few things to finish, a few scriptures to read, a few pauses to reflect before we burst into song.
Join me throughout this week (every night at 7 pm!) as we pray and sing our way to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Every minute we spend in church this week prior to Easter Sunday will make our Alleluias ring all the louder.

Already but not yet,

Pastor John D. Morris
