Extra Care at Christmas
We will have five worship services on Christmas Eve, and as always, we are expecting lots of friends and relatives and visitors to join us to celebrate the birth of our Savior. Because of all the people, it will be more important than ever that we do everything we can to keep everyone safe.
This means I’m asking you, as I’ve been asking you in recent months, to please wear your mask anytime that you are in our church building. I know that most of you are vaccinated and maybe even boosted. So am I.
But I still wear mask for my neighbor. It’s not for me. I feel very confident in the vaccines that I have received, but I do not want to carry or spread the virus to someone else through casual contact.
I know that this is a controversial subject. I know even talking about the wearing of masks can quickly become politically charged.
But I am asking for your help. Help me to create an environment that is as safe as possible for everyone. While you may feel you need not wear a mask, you can still frighten and intimidate people who are still worried about being in public situations.
Let’s wear our masks at Christmas as a way of showing everyone that we can still gather safely and carefully as a church.
This is still a request, not a requirement. But I hope, as your pastor, you will respect my wishes.
In the love of the one born to us in Bethlehem,
Pastor John Morris
