Here We Go!
We’re off and running. Everyone’s reading “The Story.” Sunday School, Confirmation, High School Youth, and Adults are beginning lots of programming.
There was a real buzz here last week as we got started with Rally Day and had our Adult Choir at both Sunday morning worship services.
But we’re just starting.
When we dedicated the “new” building 17 years ago, I said that I want to wear out the carpet and buckle the door hinges and scrape up the walls because it is being used so much.
Gary Liebisch, property chair, recently had to redo the door mechanism on the front door, Stanley Steamer was here to clean all the carpets (Although there is still a spill in the front hallway that won’t come up! Ugh!), and we are constantly painting and spot painting from the use of the building.
That’s exactly as it should be. God’s house should not be abused but it should be so used that maintenance is a constant issue and the towels are running out in the bathrooms. We seem to have all those problems – which is exactly what I am hoping and praying for.
