International Women’s Day

Tomorrow is a great celebration: it is International Women’s Day. International Women's Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women's rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.

So now that you have a heads up, I hope that you can take time tomorrow to think about, pray for, and thank the women in your life.

As a Church, we have made movement towards the inclusion of women at all levels of ministry. Below are a couple links to highlight:

First Palestinian woman to be ordained as pastor

In spite of these strides, we still have a lot of progress to make. Below are some links that talk about the struggles in the Church:

We hope to continue this conversation this weekend, as this Sunday presents another great story about a woman in ministry: John 4, the Woman at the Well. This woman is a wonderful example of a faithful minister: inquisitive, smart, and bold. Her encounter with Jesus is one of the longest conversations he has in the Bible. I invite you to read the story this week and send a text to someone that the Woman at the Well reminds you of.

God’s Peace,

Pastor Tim
