July is Filled with Opportunities to Enjoy Music!
Although summer is sometimes seen as a time to relax and “take a break” I want to share a wealth of musical opportunities that are before us! This coming Thursday, July 17 we will be delighted to host 33 string players from the Columbus Symphony who will offer Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings in C Major, Op. 48 and Haydn’s Symphony No. 83 in G Minor (“La Poule”). What a delight to hear the CSO String section in the marvelous acoustics of Prince of Peace! Tickets must be purchased through the Columbus Symphony at: https://columbussymphony.com/event/summer-night-music-in-dublin/ or at the door.
If you enjoy singing, I hope you will consider joining us for summer choir, this coming Sunday, July 20. It’s a casual gathering (just wear nice church clothes) where we will gather at 9:45 a.m. in the choir room (Chapel) to rehearse some simple music to offer at the 10:30 a.m. service. NO prior choir experience is needed, but I hope you will consider adding your voice for the morning.
And as if that’s not enough, there will be a delightful Hymn Festival on Monday, July 21 at 7 p.m. which is part of a music clinic offered by Augsburg Fortress Music Publishers. Many Gifts, One Spirit will offer a series of music and readings led by Jan Kraybill, organist, along with Jennaya Robison, choir director and soloist. All are welcome.
I hope to see you soon and often!
