Picture Day

Hey, I need your help at the end of this article – BUT FIRST…

Do you remember when you had Picture Day in school?  If you do, you probably remember the work you put into picking out the outfit, attempting to style your hair, and the reminder to "smile so we can see your teeth." Despite all the work that went into preparing you for Picture Day, something often went wrong. Still, we love those photos anyway. They are a snapshot into a past time and space in your life. As an adult, one of my favorite things to do is to change last year’s framed picture, comparing “this year’s” photo with all the changes that have happened over a year.

Picture Day is a rite of passage as you enter a new year in school. But the school doesn’t go through this ritual just so we can go through all that anxiety. They do it to have an up-to-date photo of each kid in their database. Did you know that we here at Prince of Peace also have a database? It’s called Breeze, and it has a space for each of you - your mailing address, your contact information, and your photo.

As one of your pastors, Breeze is a very important tool that helps me connect with you. Through Breeze, I can send out reminders over email and text about events we have coming up. Breeze also helped me as a new pastor to connect faces and names in a new place.

Here is where I need your help: we have a new vicar coming to the congregation. We are working hard to help her start at POP, and you can help with that. If you have not gone into Breeze for a while,

Please make sure all your contact information is correct and add a photo. There is a spot for individual photos and for family photos. It can be a selfie or a photo you took on your last vacation. Contact the office if you need help and we will be happy to help you upload your photo.

Thank you for helping Vicar Jennie as she gets started in ministry here at POP.

God’s Peace,
Pastor Tim

P.S. We are doing a gift card shower for Vicar Jennie to welcome her! Look for more info in Peace Signs, and add a card to a shopping list of your favorite local place to welcome her.
