Our two month Global Giving fundraising appeal has begun!

And, it is a really big deal this year!

•    Media and marketplace remind us that we are all intricately interconnected. What happens here matters there.  And, what happens there matters here. We are all in this together.
•    Scripture reminds us that the neighbor is not a geographical term. Paul accurately claimed that “all the parts of the body” are interdependent, needed by each other. The whole human family is just that, a connected family system.
•   Prince of Peace has twelve global mission partners! Wow! Twelve! Each has a congregational champion who is in contact with their partner at least monthly. Each month they all gather to share and compare notes. Two champions are writing a paragraph each week in Peace Signs. Listen for their passion between the lines as you read.
•    Global Mission Partnership Displays are found in the Fellowship Hall during this two month appeal. Please give them a look! And be generous.
•    A self-funded team from Prince of Peace is visiting Guatemala next month. The trip is not funded from our Global Giving Appeal. They will, however, visit our partner ministry Funda Maya and connect with our sister denomination church, Iglesia Luterana Augustina de Guatemala. Your “walking taco” gifts will be shared with them in person!
•    Your generosity (especially during the last two pandemic years when, without Closet Cause, our financial support increased!) has been life giving to our struggling sisters and brothers around the world. It will be even more so this coming year as the whole world copes with a changing landscape.
•    This year’s Closet Cause profit went to LSS’s Choices for victims of domestic violence. As a former LSSCO board member I know how important and well spent that gift will be.

So, again, this year’s Global Giving fundraising appeal is a big deal!  And your giving will matter!

As we reemerge from the pandemic, rediscovering how good God is and how blessed we are, our commitment to global partnership may be challenged. For sure. It may also be an opportunity for next level generosity. If God can turn water into wine, imagine what God can do in this world with the money we share through this year’s Global Giving annual appeal! Thank you for your gift!

I believe we benefit from our global partnerships as much as our partners do. You and I are blessed to be part of a big world loved by a big God, so, stay tuned!

P.S.  Save the date of Saturday, October 15, 6:45-7:30 pm. The Global Giving Appeal will be over, and you’re all invited to a Wine and Cheese Reception in the Fellowship Hall to celebrate! We hope you’ll stop in to sip, nosh and just enjoy!
