We Made It!!

I know that we are not supposed to brag. Tooting your own horn can be a little obnoxious and unseemly. But this time, it’s time to boast like there is no tomorrow.

We have paid off our mortgage!!

As of this writing, we have zero debt at Prince of Peace!!

It’s been 40 years coming, and we will celebrate this momentous occasion as we begin our 40^th Year Anniversary on Sunday, November 17 at 11:45 AM in the Fellowship Hall.  We will burn that old mortgage together, and with our Charter Members in attendance, we will step out into a new 40 years of ministry, completely debt free.

This church has always had a debt. When we received the land back in the mid-80’s, it came with a $500,000 mortgage. We then built the original sanctuary and office area. Two more building projects followed during my ministry here. We eventually built up a debt close to $4 million dollars.

While we now had a building to do the ministry we needed, we also had a debt that was strangling us. Through multiple campaigns, we cut down that debt that was eating us alive. We now owe nothing!

I’m so proud of all of you for your commitment. I’m so proud to be a pastor at this church. I’m so proud of your sacrifice and gifts given to free us up to do ministry.

On November 17 we begin a Year of Celebration for 40 years of incredible ministry. We begin it owing nothing to nobody, accept the debt that we owe to the one who brings us back to life, Jesus Christ our Lord.
