Important Announcement:
Worship To Be Live-Streamed in Fellowship Hall on Easter
Holy Week and Easter will soon be upon us, and I hope that you are planning to worship at Prince of Peace with us throughout this entire week that takes us from Christ’s sacrifice on the cross to this glorious resurrection.
The entire Holy Week and Easter Worship Schedule can be found on our website or in our newsletter. But I want to talk with you about some changes that will take place at this year’s Easter Celebration.
The worship times will be the same as in previous years – 8:00 am, 9:30 am, & 11:00 am. However, at the 9:30 am and 11:00 am worship services, any overflow seating will be moved to the Fellowship Hall. No extra chairs will be set up in the sanctuary or in the entry way to the sanctuary, and when the sanctuary is full, the doors will be closed and everyone not yet seated will be welcomed into our Fellowship Hall.
In the Fellowship Hall, there will be an altar, a pulpit, flowers, candles, and a baptismal font (just like the sanctuary), and a large screen that will be broadcasting our live service from the sanctuary. We will also have ushers and communion servers for this auxiliary space.
Here are just some of the reasons we are making this change:
- 1) The Fire Marshall will be thrilled. We will no longer be exceeding the maximum occupancy in the sanctuary, and there will be no chairs to block emergency exits and egress.
- 2) There has always been a slight time lag on the monitors outside the sanctuary – which makes it difficult to hear the live sound from the sanctuary and the sound from the monitors. In the Fellowship Hall, the live stream will be much easier to hear and also to see with a much large image.
- 3) Some children and adults have difficulty with the volume of our instruments and music in the sanctuary. This will allow them to enjoy the service without any need for earplugs or earphones.
- 4) Our ushers will not have to move chairs around at the last moment.
- 5) Finally, it will be safer and more comfortable for everyone.
We hope that this new effort to provide a quality worship experience will be helpful to everyone.
But, please be aware, if you want a seat in the sanctuary, make sure you are here early. If you come late or at the time of worship, you most likely will need to enjoy the service in our Fellowship Hall.
Blessings to you at Holy Week and Easter,
Pastor John D. Morris, Senior Pastor
